Home games will be few and far between for the Capitals in the upcoming weeks. Washington is in the midst of a stretch in which it plays 18 of 27 games on the road and has only four home dates in a span of 33 days. The first of those four games is Friday when the Montreal Canadiens make the first of their two visits to Verizon Center this season.

"Hershey Corner," as Jay Beagle affectionately dubbed it, is the fastest-growing community in the Washington Capitals' dressing room. John Carlson, a 2008 first-round pick and one of the organization's prized prospects, joined the Caps on Thursday and is likely to make his NHL debut Friday against the Montreal Canadiens. Carlson's stall at Kettler Capitals Iceplex is next to Mathieu Perreault's, and his is beside Michal Neuvirth's.
